YCN Bear brief: watercolour animal and environment name font versions

I have produced watercolour versions of the hand developed front of the animal and environment names. I painted the names with the same colours I used to paint the animals so the names and animals will link through colour.

I now intend to start the development of the front covers for the yoyo card designs.

YCN Bear brief: watercolour environment versions

I have painted using watercolour the environment drawings I produced. I painted the environments like the animals versions similar to the natural colours within the environments. I wanted the colours to help present the natural environments so kids could easily understand which environments the animals will be located in.

I intend to produce watercolour versions of the animal and environment name fonts.

YCN Bear brief: watercolour animal versions

Here are the watercolour painted versions of the animal illustrations. I chose to colour the animals similar to there true natural colours. I painted the illustrations mostly presenting lighter colour tones to give the animals a bright friendly feel.

I will paint using watercolours the environment settings and the animal and environments name fonts.

YCN Bear brief: animal and environment facts

Here are hand written facts about the animals and environments they live in which using Photoshop I will place on the back yoyo card designs. The facts teaching kids about special features and skills the animals. The facts also presenting interesting information about the environments they will in.

I intend to watercolour the animal and environment settings illustrations for the front card designs

YCN: Bear brief hand developed animal and environment name fonts

Here are the animal name and environment name hand developed fonts. I also included the Facts front with will be above both the animal and environment facts. I intent for the facts and lettering to be part the back cover design for the yoyo cards.

I will gather facts about the animals and environments hand written the facts so the pieces of text will have a more personal feel which will connect better to kids.

YCN: Bear Brief illustrated environment settings.

Arctic landscape 1

Arctic landscape 2

Ocean landscape

African safari landscape

I have illustrated the natural environment settings which the animals live in. I illustrated two Arctic, one Ocean and one African safari environment setting. I chose to develop two Arctic landscapes as I was not convinced about the first drawing so I decide to illustrate a second Arctic landscape. The environment settings will be placed on the front of the cards with the animals using Photoshop presenting illustrations of the animals in there natural environments.

My idea for the yoyo cards is for Bear to travel around the world meeting all different animals teaching kids about the animals themselves and the environments they live in. I chose to focus on three animals and three environments well known and popular to kids.

I intend to produce animal name and environment fonts

YCN Student Awards Bear brief animal drawings

I had chosen to develop work for a YCN Student Award Brief. The brief being Bear where the brief is set around producing three yoyo card designs for the Bear company. The target audience for the cards being set around 4 to 9 year olds. The cards designed to take children on adventure with Bear. The bear in children's minds being real to them. There also needing to be a story behind the cards. The cards also needing to teach children facts about any chosen subject. The brief wanting three different yoyo cards with a front and back design. The Bear company logo also needing to be involved in the design.

I have developed four animal drawings which I intend to be used for the front cover of the cards. The animal drawings are also designed to make them look happy and friendly to make them appeal to kids better.
The front of the three cards having ever a shark, lion and polar bear. The animals will also be pictured in a environment setting known to them. I produced two polar bear drawings as I wanted two to chose from as I was not to convinced with the first drawing. I intend to use the second polar bear drawing for the card design.

I will illustrate a Ocean, African safari and Arctic environment setting for the background.
